Men’s Golf opens year with Wexford Invitational

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Cleveland State men's golf team opened its 2022 Spring season at the Wexford Planation Intercollegiate with a 16th-place finish over the three-round tournament played on Monday and Tuesday.

It was the first competition for the program in 125 days and the first of the Spring season.

Gunnar McCollins and Zach Robbins led the way for the Vikings with +6 and +7 performances, respectively. McCollins finished in a tie for 31st overall while Robbins came in a tie for 37th

McCollins also slotted into a tie for ninth overall at the tournament with 11 total birdies. Robbins was tied for fourth with his 38 holes of par.

Rounding out things for the Vikes was Jules Blakely (T60th), Zak Supelak (84th) and Jonny Filler (90th). 

CSU will be right back at it as the squad heads South for the Orlando Invitational on Monday, Feb. 28.
