Robbins in Top 20 After Day One of Tom Tontimonia Invitational

WESTLAKE, Ohio – Senior Zach Robbins recorded a round of 72 to lead Cleveland State on the opening day of the Tom Tontimonia Invitational on Monday at the Lakewood Country Club. Weather shortened the first day of the tournament to one round per competitor, rather than the usual 36 holes.

TOURNAMENT RECAP
Robbins' one-over-par score of 72 places him in 17th in the medalist chase after the first day of competition. Robbins earned a par on all but three holes and shot one birdie on the second hole.

Led by Robbins' performance, Cleveland State is currently tied for eighth in the team standings with an aggregate score of 293. Butler leads all teams in the tournament with a score of 283, and Oakland is one stroke behind with a day one total of 284.

Junior Gunnar McCollins is tied for 23rd overall with a score of 73, and seniors Jules Blakely and Zak Supelak each turned in rounds of 74, tying them both in 36th place.

Jonny Filler rounded out the Cleveland State lineup with a day one score of 78. The junior is tied for 64th place among individuals after day one.

Four Vikings competed individually. Senior Jack Hanus is tied in 36th after firing a round of 74 in day one. Sophomores Mason Frazier and Andrew Kaye earned respective round one scores of 75 and 82, placing in 51st and 74th. Senior David Laib scored a 78 on day one, tying him for 64th in the medalist chase.
