Cleveland State Golf Honors Longtime Viking Administrator with Invitational

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland State men's golf program honors longtime staffer Tom Tontimonia with the naming of its home invitatonal. 

Tontimonia was an athletics administrator for 38 years at Cleveland State and held longtime sport oversight for the Viking golf programs. He retired from the University in 2018, and the men's golf program elected to rename its annual fall tournament after him to recognize his ardent support for the sport at Cleveland State.

While at Cleveland State, Tontimonia was responsible for the development, preparation, execution and management of the annual operating budge. 

The longtime Vike joined the staff at CSU in June of 1980 as Business & Promotions Manager, before being promted to Business & Ticket Manager in 1981, Assistant Athletic Director/Finance in 1991 and finally Associate Athletic Director/Operations in 1994.

Prior to joining the staff at Cleveland State, Tontimonia held roles as a teacher and coach at Windham Exempted Village Schools (1976-80), and Streetsboro City Schools (1975-76).

Tontimonia received is undergraduate degree from Ohio State in 1975 and his master's in 1983 from Kent State.
