Cleveland State Golf Lands Two on the #HLGOLF Second Team

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – Cleveland State golfers Zak Supelak and Kaylee Neumeister have been named to the #HLGOLF Second Team, the Horizon League announced Friday afternoon. The teams were voted upon by Horizon League head coaches.

Supelak entered the 2021 Horizon League Championships ranked ninth in the Horizon League, according to Golfstat's rankings. The junior notched a team-leading 73.3 stroke average throughout the course of the season, which included a career-low round of 63. Supelak's round of 63 tied a program record for lowest individual round, set in 2006 by current head coach Steve Weir at the Belmont Intercollegiate.

The Copley, Ohio, native finished the 2021 #HLGOLF Championships T8, shooting a team-best five-over-par (73-69-79, 221), marking his second top 10 finish of the season. His round of 69 marked the Vikings' only sub-70 individual round of the championships.

Neumeister entered the #HLGOLF Championships ranked seventh in the Horizon League with a team-best 76.08 stroke average. Prior to the championships, the senior, who did not compete at all during the 2019-20 season due to an internship, participated in five tournaments, finishing in the top 20 three times, which includes two top 10 finishes and one in the top five.

At the championships in West Lafayatte, Neumeister took home a T6 finish, shooting +10 over the course of the three-day, 54-hole event (74-76-76, 226).

This is Neumeister's third time appearing on an all-league team, having garnered First Team honors in 2017 and Second Team honors in 2019.
