Supelak Named Nike #HLGOLF Men's Golfer of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - Cleveland State senior golfer Zak Supelak has been named this week's Nike #HLGOLF Men's Golfer of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday afternoon. The senior becomes the first Viking to win the league's weekly award this season.

Supelak had an incredible two-day outing at the Dayton Flyers Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday. Supelak had a career performance, finishing -6 (72-63-69) after 54 holes. In his second round on Monday, the senior's shot 63, which tied the record for lowest individual round in program history. Supelak tied current head coach Steve Weir's 63 set back in 2006 at the Belmont Intercollegiate.

After 54 holes of golf, the Copley, Ohio, native was tied with Dayton's Kyle Schmidt for the top spot. Schmidt ultimately won the playoff hole, with Supelak finishing as the runner-up. The Copley, Ohio, native's second place finish, marks his best finish in a tournament during his Cleveland State career.

The senior paced the Vikings to a sixth-place finish out of 12 teams in the Dayton Flyers Intercollegiate.

Supelak and his Green and White teammates will compete at the Wright State Invitational on Sunday, April 18 and Monday, April 19. Following that tournament, the Vikes will head to the Horizon League Championship.
