Cleveland State to Compete in Dayton Flyer Intercollegiate

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's golf team is set to compete at the Dayton Flyer Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday.

The Intercollegiate will be played between April 12 and 13 at the NCR Country Club in Kettering. The 54-hole event will be played on the South Course at par 70 and 6,720 yards with a 9 a.m. shotgun start Monday (36) and Tuesday (18).

Cleveland State will be one of 12 teams competing: Bowling Green, Bradley, Cleveland State, Dayton, DePaul, IUPUI, Morehead State, Northern Kentucky, Ohio, Purdue Fort Wayne, Youngstown State, Wright State

Last year at the Flyer Invitational, Jules Blakely had his best finish of the season, tying for first place with a score of 215, becoming the first Cleveland State medalist since Anton Krecic was the medalist at the 2017 Horizon League Championship.

In their last outing, the Viking men finished in fifth place at the Butler Invitational. 

The Vikings finished four strokes ahead of Indiana-Kokomo for the fifth spot of 11 competing teams. Cleveland State scored 301-296-297, 894 over the course of the two-day, 54-hole, tournament.

Leading the way for Cleveland State was junior Jack Hanus. Hanus finished 28th scoring 73-74-77, 224, tallying six birdies throughout his time at the Butler Invitational.
