Vikings Record Strong Second Day, Finish Challenge in Eighth

BRADENTON, Florida – The Vikings jumped two spots during the final round of the Challenge at Concession on Tuesday, March 10, finishing in eighth place out of 11 teams. Cleveland State left Bradenton, Florida with an overall score of 959 (327-328-304, +95).

RECAP:

The Vikings' score of 304 tied the third lowest score of the day out of all 11 teams, with three Vikings scoring 75 on the final day: Jules Blakely, Zach Robbins, Gunnar McCollins.

Jules Blakely had another strong showing, shooting 75 on the day. The junior, who finished his first day of play tied for 14th place, ended his two-day tournament tied for 12th, finishing with a total score of 230 (78-77-75, +14).

Zach Robbins moved up 10 places on the final day, finishing tied for 27thGunnar McCollins also scored 75 on the day, moving up 11 spots from day one to day two. The freshman saw an eight-stroke improvement from round two to round three, sinking two birdies on the day.

Fellow freshman Jonny Filler finished his time at the Challenge at Concession 60th overall, recording a total score of 253 (87-87-79), while sophomore Jack Hanus finished two spots behind Filler at 62, with an overall score of 258 (83-90-85).
