BRADENTON, Florida – The Cleveland State men's golf team finished its first day of the Challenge at Concession in 10th place out of 11 schools on Monday, March 9.
RECAP:
After the first day of play Cleveland State recorded a team score of 655 (327-328, +79).
Jules Blakely finished his first 18 holes of the day tied for 16th place, notching a score of 78 (+6). The junior from Westlake, Ohio, saw a one-stroke improvement in his second round, finishing tied for 14th on the day, scoring a team-leading 155 (78-77, +11).
Fellow junior Zach Robbins finished day one tied for 37th with an overall score of 160 (79-81, +16). Robbins sunk in three birdies in the second round on the third, 10th and 17th hole.
Gunnar McCollins ended his first 36 holes 59th overall, registering a score of 170 (87-83, +26) and saw a four-stroke improvement from one round to round two.
Sophomore Jack Hanus finished tied for 61st overall (83-90 173, +29), while Jonny Filler finished 63rd, with a score of 174 (87-87, +30).
