Vikings Set to Begin The Challenge at Concession

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State Vikings men's golf team is set to participate in the Challenge at Concession beginning on Monday, March 9 – Tuesday, March 10 at the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida.

Cleveland State is one of 11 teams participating in this two-day tournament. The other schools are as follows: Ohio State, USF, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Dayton, Florida Gulf Coast, Lamar, Central Arkansas, Ohio and High Point.

Shotgun start begins at 9 a.m. on both Monday and Tuesday. On Monday, golfers will play 36 holes, while they'll play 18 on Tuesday.

The Vikings recently played at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate, placing 14th out of 18 schools.

The Vikings finished the two-day tournament with a final score of 909 (302-294-313, +45).

Zach Robbins was the top finisher for Cleveland State, pacing the Vikings with a score of 218 (+2) in three rounds. The junior moved up four spots, finishing ninth, after starting at 13. Robbins recorded three birdies in the final day, including back-to-back birdies on the seventh and eighth holes.

Jules Blakely finished the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate tied for the 32nd spot, shooting 226 (+10) over his three rounds. Sophomore Jack Hanus tied for 57th, finishing with a score of 231 (+15).
