TOURNAMENT RECAP

VERONA, N.Y. -- Junior Zach Robbins shot a closing-round 66 and finished tied for seventh overall leading Cleveland State on the final day of the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate on Monday on the Kaluhyat Course.

Robbins' 66 ties for the third-best round in Cleveland State history behind only the school-record 63 shot by current head coach Steve Weir and five golfers who shot 65. Robbins is one of the five to have shot a 65, which he turned in on the final round last spring at the Wildcats Spring Invitational.

Robbins finished the tournament with a four-under par total of 212.

Led by Robbins, Cleveland State finished ninth overall in the team standings with a 54-hole score of 913. Cleveland State improved in each round of the tourament and closed with a team score of 299 on the final 18 holes of competition.

Jules Blakely shot rounds of 77-76-77 and finished with a total of 230, which tied him for 41st place overall.

Freshman Gunnar McCollins posted rounds of 77-77-79 ad finished tied for 51st overall, while David Laib bounced back from an opening-round 84 to shoot rounds of 77-77 and he was tied for 61st overall.

Freshman Jonny Filler carded rounds of 87-84-80 and placed 85th in the standings.

North Carolina won the team title with a score of 822 and the Tar Heels Ryan Burnett captured medalist honors with an 18-under par 198.
