HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- Zach Robbins fired rounds of 78-73 over the opening 36 holes of the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate Tournament leading Cleveland State to an 18th-place showing after the first day of competition on Monday at the Wexford Plantation Course.
After shooting a 78 to open the spring season, Robbins fired a 73 over the par-72, 6913-yard layout at Wexford Plantation. He posted birdies on the second, ninth and 18th holes on his way to a 73.
Led by Robbins, who is tied for 32nd overall, Cleveland State currently stands in 18th place in the team standings. The Vikings posted rounds of 323-313 over their opening 36 holes.
Anton Krecic had rounds of 83-79 for a total of 162, which ranks him tied for 80th in the individual standings. Jules Blakely is also tied for 80th overall after posting 79-83 over his first 36 holes.
Jack Hanus rounded out the CSU scoring group for the day as he shot 83-81 and is tied for 85th overall.
Zak Supelak also competed for the Vikings and he is 91st overall after shooting 88-80.
Temple leads the team scoring with rounds of 292-295 and Trey Wren of Temple leads the medalist chase with scores of 71-69.
The tournament will conclude on Tuesday at the Wexford Plantation Course.
