KETTERING, Ohio - The Cleveland State University men's golf team sat in eighth place at the end of the opening day of the Dayton Flyer Invitational as play was suspended late in the second round Monday evening.

Playing at the NCR Country Club's South Course, a par-71, 7,100-yard layout, only three of the 12 teams were able to complete their second round Monday. Three of the Vikings were able to finish 36 holes while two were on the course when play was halted.

Cleveland State sits at +26 for the event with the second round nearly complete. The Vikings shot +6 (290) in the opening round, tied for the third-lowest score.

Sophomore Zak Supelak has the lowest score to par among Vikings at the end of the opening day. He made two birdies, two bogeys, a lone double and 13 pars to finish the opening round at +2 (73). He followed that up with a +3 (74) and sits at +5 (147) entering the final round.

Sophomores Jules Blakely and Zach Robbins both shot even-par 71's in the opening round. Blakely made four birdies, four bogeys and 10 pars while Robbins balanced three birdies against three bogeys. It was Robbins' third consecutive round of par or better and his fourth of the season, tying for the team lead.

Both Robbins and Blakely sit at +6 for the second round with one and two holes remaining, respectively.

Freshman Miles DeMeusy and Jack Hanus both shot +4 (75) in the opening round. The former shot 81 in the second round while the latter posted 76.

Blakely's 71 was his first round of par or better this season and the second of his career.

The second round will be completed Tuesday morning before the final round commences with a shotgun start.
