MUNCIE, Ind. - Blake Prince shot his third straight round of even-par 70 to finish fourth overall and help Cleveland State to a third place finish out of 13 teams at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational that concluded on Saturday at the par-70, 6,438-yard Delaware Country Club.
CSU shot a final round 369 with the tournament counting the top five scores out of six golfers per team.
The event was the final one of the regular season for the Vikings who will be back in action at the Horizon League Championship from April 23-25 at Mission in Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. CSU is the three-time defending League champion and has won seven of the last 11 League titles.
Eastern Kentucky won the team title with a 1,076 total, three shots ahead of runner-up and tournament host Ball State. CSU was third at 1,092, while Dayton (1,096) and Taylor (1,097) rounded out the top-five.
Prince's final round 70 was highlighted by an eagle two on the par-four, 359-yard, ninth hole. He made two birdies today as well, finishing with a 54-hole total of 210. He made a tournament best 37 pars over the two days.
Senior Patrick Luth notched another top-10 finish as he tied for 10th place with rounds of 74-69-73 (216). Luth tied for the most birdies in the field with 14 over 54 holes.
Anton Krecic and Joey Krecic both had 54 hole totals of 221 and tied for 18th place. Anton Krecic shot 75 in the opening round and finished with back-to-back rounds of 73 as his 36 total pars were tied for the second most in the field. Joey Krecic shot 71-75-75.
