Krecic Shoots Final Round 70 as CSU Finishes 8th at Colleton River Collegiate

BLUFFTON, S.C. - Cleveland State shot a final round 298 - highlighted by Joey Krecic's two-under-par 70 - and moved up one spot to finish eighth of 11 teams at the Colleton River Collegiate that concluded on Tuesday.

CSU opened with rounds of 307 and 306 on Monday and today's round was the third lowest in the field as the Vikings were one of just four teams to break 300 as a team (Michigan State, 292; UAB, 297, UConn, 297).

The 54-hole event, hosted by Michigan State, was played at the par-72, 7,151-yard Colleton River Club, a Pete Dye Course.

Krecic led the Vikings today as he made five birdies en route to as 70, which tied for the second lowest round of the day. He was one of just nine players in the 72 player field to shoot par or better today.

Krecic tied for 31st place overall with a 54-hole total of 229 (80-79-70).

His younger brother, Anton Krecic, was CSU's top finisher at the event, shooting rounds of 77-77-73 for a 227 total. Senior Patrick Luth was one shot behind at 228 (74-78-76) and tied for 26th place.

Matt McAdoo, playing as an individual for CSU, shot an even-par 72.

CSU is back in action on March 19-20 at the UNC Wilmington Seahawk Intercollegiate.
