RICHMOND, Ky. - Cleveland State shot a school record 270 in the second round of the Eastern Kentucky Intercollegiate on Saturday and is in second place after the first two rounds.
FORE THINGS TO KNOW
• The event is being played at the par-70, 6,623-yard University Club at Arlington.
• CSU used four rounds in the 60's to shatter the old school record of 277 set in the first round of the 2007 IPFW Fall Classic.
• The Vikings opened the tournament with a round of 285 and was in fifth place after the first round, but used the 10-under-par 270 to move into second place after two rounds.
• Host Eastern Kentucky holds a three shot lead over CSU after shooting 284-268.
INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
• The Vikings have three players in the top-10 of the individual standings, including the duo of senior Patrick Luth and junior Blake Prince who are tied for third place with 36 hole totals of 138.
• Luth shot back-to-back rounds of one-under-par 69, while Prince opened with a 72 and fired a four-under-par 66 in the afternoon, tied for the second lowest round of the day.
• Junior Joey Krecic is tied for eighth place after rounds of 72-67 (139), while sophomore Nick Infanti shot 72-68 (140) and is tied for 14th place. Sophomore Anton Krecic is tied for 66th place after rounds of 76-73 (149).
UP NEXT
The final round of the event will be played on Sunday with a shotgun start at 8:30 am. CSU will tee off on the first, second and third holes with Eastern Kentucky and Ohio, which is one shot behind the Vikings in third place.
