Vikings Tied for Fifth Place After First Two Rounds of CSU Invitational

AURORA, Ohio - Cleveland State shot rounds of 290 and 299 and is tied for fifth place in the 13-team field of the CSU Invitational that started on Monday at the par-72, 7,138-yard Barrington GC.

Kent State leads the field with a 36-hole total of 571 that included a second round 275 after an opening 296. Dayton, the first round leader at 288, shot a second round 289 and is tied for second place with Oakland at 577, while Bowling Green is in fourth place at 585.

CSU is tied for fifth with Appalachian State (589), while Wright State (591), Youngstown State (595), Northern Kentucky (600), IPFW (603), Detroit (604), Robert Morris (609) and St. Francis (Pa.) (631) round out the field.

IPFW's Jacob Groninger leads the field with a 36-hole total of 140. He carded a four-under-par 68 to open the tournament and shot an even-par 72 in round two. He holds a one shot lead over four players.

Blake Prince leads the Vikings, carding rounds of 69-77 (146) and is tied for 13th place. Joey Krecic is tied for 18th place after rounds of 73-74 (147), while Mitchell Moore is tied for 35th place at 150 (72-78).

Anton Krecic, who is playing as an individual, shot back-to-back rounds of 75 and is also tied for 35th place.

The final round of the tournament will be played on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.
