Luth in Second; Vikings in Fourth After First Two Rounds of NKU Collegiate Classic

BATAVIA, Ohio - Pat Luth carded two rounds of one-under-par 70 and is in second place after the first two rounds of the NKU Collegiate Classic that began on Sunday at the par-71, 6,845-yard Elks Run GC.

The Vikings are in fourth place out of 11 teams after rounds of 290 and 288, just six shots behind first place Morehead State, which leads the tournament at 572. Wright State is in second place at 573, while Youngstown State is in third place at 576.

Dayton, which is six shots behind CSU at 584, rounds out the top-five.

Luth made three birdies and two bogies in the opening round and followed that with a four-birdie, three-bogey performance in round two for his two rounds of 70. 

He trails Wright State's Ryan Wenzler who shot 70-64 and leads the field with a 36-hole total of 134.

Luth and Wenzler were the only two players to shoot under par in both rounds on Sunday.

Blake Prince is tied for ninth place overall at 143 (73-70), while Mitchell Moore rallied to shoot a second round 70 after an opening round 79 and is tied for 28th place.

Paul Minko and Michael Bishop, who are playing as individuals, are both in the top-20 after two rounds. Minko is tied for third place at 141 (72-69), while Bishop is tied for 17th place (72-75 - 147).

The final 18 holes of the event will be played on Monday (Sept. 28).
