Waters To Speak At ACE Program

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State head basketball coach Gary Waters has been selected to speak at the 2012 NCAA Black Coaches & Administrators Achieving Coaching Excellence Program (ACE) in Indianapolis, Ind. on June 8.

Waters' talk will focus mainly on recruiting and program development.

The ACE Program is designed to provide a professional development opportunity for current NCAA collegiate men's and women's basketball coaches. The ACE Program is committed to preparing racial and ethnic minority collegiate basketball coaches for success as future head basketball coaches.

The participants in the ACE Program are provided an opportunity to engage and interact with current NCAA head basketball coaches, director of athletics and leaders involved in intercollegiate athletics. The selected participants will receive training and education in the areas of leadership, communication, campus relations, media, community involvement and program management.

One of the most respected coaches in the country, Waters is entering his seventh year at CSU and owns a 122-82 mark with the Vikings. In 16 seasons as a head coach, Waters claims a 293-217 mark. He has led the Vikings to the postseason in four of the last five seasons and has guided 10 of his teams to the postseason in his 16 seasons as a head coach, including three trips to the NCAA's.
