CLEVELAND - Cleveland State men's basketball head coach Mike Garland announced Wednesday that Raheem Moss (Columbus, Ohio) has transferred to Cleveland State from Bowling Green. Moss will be able to practice with the Vikings this season while sitting out to fulfill NCAA residency requirements. He will be eligible to play for CSU in 2004-05.

A 6-4, 203 pound shooting guard, Moss played in 26 contests (two starts) last season for the Falcons, averaging 2.5 ppg and 2.4 rpg in 11.7 minutes per game. He posted a career-high 11 points Feb. 22 at Illinois-Chicago and pulled down five or more rebounds on four occasions.

A 2002 graduate of Brookhaven High School, Moss led the Bearcats to the 2002 Ohio Division I Championship. The MVP of the state tournament, he also earned All-State, All-City and All-District honors. A member of the National Honor Society, Moss averaged 15.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg and 5.0 apg as a senior.

"Raheem's versatility will allow him to play any of the three perimeter positions on the court," said Garland. "He is always around the ball, is a strong rebounder and is an excellent scoring threat from the outside."

Moss rounds out Garland's first recruiting class at CSU, joining high school seniors Victor Morris (Inkster, Mich./Inkster), Luke Murphy (Hampton, Va./Phoebus) and Patrick Tatham (Brampton, Ontario/Chinguacousy) who all signed National Letters of Intent earlier in the month.

Garland became the 13th head coach in the program's history on April 17, 2003. He spent the previous seven seasons as an assistant under Tom Izzo at Michigan State.
