Cleveland State vs. West Virginia Tech

Carlos English

• Led CSU with a season-high 21 points, going 5-for-7 from three-point, his second career 20-point game (old season high:  15 vs. Miami, Fla.)

• Set a CSU career high with five three-pointers (previous high:  4 vs. John Carroll, 12/22/05)

 

J'Nathan Bullock

• Scored 14 of his 17 points in the second half and adding 14 rebounds for his fifth career double-double.

• Handed out a career-high 5 assists (previous high:  3 vs.multiple opponents)

• Led the Vikings with a career-high 14 rebounds, including 6 off the offensive glass (Old high:  12 vs. Chicago State, 12/19/06)

 

Joe Davis

• Scored in double figures for the seventh time this season, finishing with 12 points.

• Was five-for-10 from the field with a pair of three-pointers.

 

Kevin Francis

• Scored in double figures for the third time this season, finishing with 14 points.

• Added a career-high 6 blocked shots, one off the school record of 7 set by three different players (Old CSU high:  4 at Evansville)

 

Miscellaneous

• This was the first meeting ever between Cleveland State and West Virginia Tech

• The CSU victory snapped a six-game Viking losing streak, allowing CSU to post a 1-6 record in the month of December.

• CSU took a 40-28 lead into halftime, marking the 11th time (in 15 games) that the Vikings led at the break.  CSU is 6-5 in those games.

• The Vikings blocked 9 shots, the second-highest single game total this year (11 vs. John Carroll)

• CSU made 13 steals, turning 27 West Virginia Tech turnovers into 28 points.

• CSU shot .833 from the foul line (10-12) compared to .421 for West Virginia Tech (8-19).
