Men's Basketball Falls To Detroit In Horizon League Tourney Quarterfinal, 67-63

CLEVELAND (AP) - Greg Grays scored 33 points including a pivotal 3-pointer down the stretch as Detroit beat Cleveland State 67-63 Saturday in a quarterfinal of the Horizon League tournament.

The Titans (18-11) advance to meet the winner of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Illinois-Chicago in Sunday night's semifinal.

Cleveland State (12-16), the host team for the tournament, pulled to 61-59 on a free throw by Jamaal Harris with 2:53 remaining.

Grays, however, countered with a 3-pointer with 1:22 left to push the lead back to five points. Marc Mazur hit one free throw and Terrell Riggs made two more in the final 50 seconds to preserve the win.

Riggs added 13 points, as did Willie Green. Mazur had 10 rebounds.

Harris scored 29 points and Pape Badiane added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Vikings.

Grays hit 7-of-13 3-point attempts and was 3-for-12 inside the arc while hitting all six of his free throws. The Titans were 9-for-17 on 3-pointers.
