POSTGAME QUOTES

CSU Head Coach Gary Waters
"This team really needed that win. This was a boost in the arm, and we played hard for that win. We played hard for two weeks with no results, and we finally got results tonight. The freshmen did a great job of giving us a lift. Our freshmen did very well in a lot of areas and if they continue to do that, that will only make us stronger down the stretch."

"I thought Tre Harmon did a great job guarding Ray McCallum. That was the game. It was his best defensive game and he took their head away."

"Ike Nwamu got this opportunity a lot sooner because he's been playing point guard in practice and he's learning the game. I make him play defense every possession so he's starting to pick things up."

"Sebastian Douglas, Anton Grady and Charles Lee were all averaging 15 minutes a game early in the season. We lost Sebastian and D'Aundray Brown and those are two guys at the same position so it really put us behind."

"I thought Luda Ndaye really helped us because he was stable. Eli Holman usually gets his way around us, but Luda came in and held down the fort."

"We attempted 14 three-pointers, but we had 16 assists so we were still moving the ball. If we do that, our offense will click."

"Our guys were resilient and they played together regardless of the circumstances and I told them at practice yesterday and again today before the game that this was an important game for us and that it was THE most important game we can play. We needed to play well at home and we haven't done that in a long time, but also we need to send a message to the league that we plan to be a part of this tournament. We needed to see that we could beat one of the top-level teams in the Horizon League."

Freshman Forward Marlin Mason
"It felt really good. That was the best I've ever played - at both ends of the floor. I almost had a double-double but I just came out and tried to play hard for the team."

"Coach pushes me in practice and whenever I slack off, he tells me to work harder. I know I need to step up and be a hustle player, a guy that will get all the loose balls."

Freshman Guard Ike Nwamu
"I was waiting and today I needed to come in and step up. I just came in and filled a role."

"I'm trying to get better every single day so when coach needs me I can come in and help out."

Senior Guard Trevon Harmon
"It feels good to get back on the winning track and this win gives us some momentum. I'm proud of the freshmen because they came through when we needed them the most."

"Teams have been scoring too much on us and our goal was to keep Detroit under 40 percent. We did that and we came out victorious. If we do that down the stretch, we'll be okay."
