Post-Game Quotes

Cleveland State Head Coach Mike Garland
"We lost this game on the offensive end. This was one of our better defensive games, but we turned the ball over at critical times. And every time they got an opportunity, Blake [Schilb] came through. We're right there, but we are developing a team here."

"Our kids came out and played aggressive. We made some errors but did not fold physically."

"Frashon McGee is playing with a broken shooting hand. I know for a fact that he can make those shots, but he can't. He gets a lot of open shots that I know he could knock down if his hand was allright."

On Loyola forward Blake Schilb: I watched him on film, and he scared me to death. He's playing as well as anybody right now. He's a match-up nightmare. He can do so much to beat you. For the most part, last year he was a post player, but now he can step out and he's so sure with his shot."

On the injury to Steve Gansey: "It would have helped to have him, because , right now, his confidence on the offensive end has stepped up. We could have used some of those threes."

On the absence of Omari Westley: "There was a violation of team rules. The young man didn't agree with it. He took off, left, and I haven't seen or heard from Omari in the last two days. I'm supposed to meet with him tomorrow and we will discuss his future at CSU for the remainder of the year."

Loyola Head Coach Jim Whitesell:
"It was huge for us to hang around in this game. It wasn't a pretty game for us. CSU played inspired basketball. They were a step ahead of us for most of the game. They were screening well, and played very physical, so I'm thrilled to win this game."
