Cleveland State Falls To Detroit 72-62 In Horizon League Action

Hampered by chilly shooting at inopportune times, Cleveland State was tripped up by Detroit at Goodman Arena 72-62 Saturday afternoon.

The Vikings, 11-14 overall and 5-9 Horizon League, made just one 3-pointer in 14 attempts for 7.1 percent. CSU was 40 percent from the field overall and 65.6 percent from the line.

The Titans, 15-11 and 9-5, connected on almost 50 percent from the field, including 40 percent from behind the arc, and 70 percent from the line.

UDM's Greg Grays led all scorers with 23 points while Willie Green dropped in 19. Junior postman Terrell Riggs accounted for a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. In addition, Riggs dealt out a career-high seven assists.

Senior swingman Theo Dixon (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) fired in 19 points and Jermaine Robinson (Philadelphia, Pa./Simon Gratz) added 13. Postman Andre' Williams (Clayton, N.J./Bishop Eustace) tossed in 10, going 5-of-6 from the field.

With Riggs leading the way, the Titans controlled the boards 37-28. Tahric Gosley (Philadelphia, Pa./Simon Gratz) grabbed a team-high seven caroms for CSU.
