"This was a tough loss for our team to take. I thought we beat ourselves. The issue that we have been having came back to haunt us: we turned the ball over too much and we gave up too many offensive rebounds. When we hold a team to 38 percent shooting, we'll win 95 percent of the time. We're just having trouble scoring."

"We have to use our home as our leverage and that's always been our strength. We haven't done that these past two games."

"One of the things that made us good when we were 20-3 was that we could get 45-50 points from our starters and 20 points from the bench. Now we're missing that and with D'Aundray Brown down, you don't replace that overnight."

"Anton Grady can score some points. We need to use that part of our offense but we need others around him contributing. We did a better job in the second half but we turned the ball over too much."

"Butler plays inside-out so you need to hit shots and get offensive rebounds. We didn't do a great job of that."

"I told our guys that our recent play has nothing to do with skill level - it's all about heart. I thought we played hard and tried to do the right things. I told our guys this was going to be a fight and we need to throw the first punch. We were a counter-puncher and that hurt us. Down the stretch, they got two offensive rebounds and in a close game like this, that can't happen. That's the fight I'm talking about."

"They took our head off and we couldn't get our offense going. They did to us what we usually do to others. We took one or two dribbles too many and it became a problem."

"There is a word called `fate' out there and it is trying to come after us. It's biting at our heels. You have to fight this fate and fight as hard as you can. I told my guys that we worked too hard and we're going to fight our fate."

"We had a sense of urgency in the second half - but we should have that the whole game. With a team like Butler who is scrappy and will fight every possession, we need to have a sense of urgency or games will end up like this."

"A couple years back, Butler hit a game-winner on us and that sticks with me. It's a rivalry game for us and you have to play those games down to the wire. We have to get better offensively because we're just out of sync right now. Our defense is there and we just need to make corrections to sure that up, but we need to get back to doing what we're supposed to do on offense."
