CSU senior Norris Cole
- Registered his fourth double-double of the year (7th career), finishing with 25 points and a career-high 11 rebounds.
- Flirted with a triple-double, adding 7 assists and 2 steals
- It was his 12th 20-point game of the season (31st career).
- Was 8-for-8 from the line, including 4-for-4 in the final 5:00.

CSU junior Jeremy Montgomery
- Registered his third 20-point effort of the year (8th career), finishing with a career-high 26 points (25 at Ohio State).
- Was 4-for-6 from three-point.
- Added 5 rebounds, his sixth game of 5 or more this season.

Miscellaneous Notes
- This was the 37th meeting between CSU and Valparaiso with the Vikings now owning a 28-9 lead in the all-time series, including 15-3 in Cleveland.
- The Vikings never trailed in the first half, though the game was tied at both 2-2 (19:29) and 30-30 (0:26). CSU led by as many as 11 (29-18, 5:25) before Valpo finished the half on a 12-2 run to trail, 31-30, at the break.
- CSU opened the second half on a 13-2 run to take a 43-32 lead with 16:21 left but the Crusaders would close to within 49-47 with 9:43 left. The Vikings answered with seven straight (49-42, .634) and led by as many as 10 (59-49 & 61-51). The Crusaders would come no closer than five the rest of the way.
- The crowd of 4,472 was the third-largest of the year and it raised the CSU average to 2,831 (36,795 in 13 games), the largest since CSU averaged 3,222 in 2000-01.
- The win improved CSU to 21-3 on the year and moved the Vikings to 10-2 in league play, a game-and-a-half ahead of Valparaiso (8-3). Valparaiso slipped to 16-7 overall.
- The win allowed the Vikings to extend their Wolstein Center record for consecutive wins with 15 dating back to the end of last season. CSU is now 13-0 at home this year. This streak breaks the school mark of 13 straight wins, which was set from Dec. 2008 to Nov., 2009.
- By holding Valpo to under .500 shooting, the Vikings extended their school record with their 24th straight game under that mark. The old school record was 19 straight in 1965-66.
- With the Viking guards leading the way, CSU finished with a 48-36 rebounding edge.
- The Crusaders did a good job taking care of the ball, committing just 5 turnovers, the fewest by a CSU opponent this year (old low 8 by Milwaukee). Valpo turned the ball over just once in the second half.
- The Vikings has a decisive advantage at the foul line, going 26-for-40 (.650) while Valpo made 7-of-11 (.636).
- Sophomore Charlie Woods provided a defensive spark, blocking a career-high 5 shots (4 vs. West Virginia Tech).
- Junior Trey Harmon set his career rebounding high with 12 (old high 10 vs. Iona).
