Postgame Quotes

Cleveland State vs. UW-Milwaukee

Jan. 11, 2007

Cleveland State Head Coach Gary Waters: "I knew it wouldn't be easy this first year. I knew it. But I would say that out of the last eight games, we could have won six of them. I'm going to coach for many years after this. But for our seniors, this is it. We're going to have a lot of winning seasons here. But this is killing our seniors."

On CSU Missing Shots: "We just need to make some baskets. We missed about eight lay-ups. At some time, we need to start making those."

On The Team's Attitude: "A win won't change anything. We need an attitude change. We have to win at home. You have to protect your home. Eventually, something has to change. This team works as hard as any team I've ever had in practice, and they deserve success."

Cleveland State Guard Carlos English: "The coaches prepare us for every game. They stay and give extra time, and give us everything we need to win. They work too hard for us to be losing lke this. We have to dig down deep within ourselves."

UW-Milwaukee Head Coach Rob Jeter: "The difference for us was that we settled in during the second half and got the ball inside. As a result, we got better looks. We're a team that is going to do better shooting inside rather than settling for three-point shots."

On Being In Position To Win In The Second Half: "We wanted to be in position to battle them down the stretch. Our staff understood that we needed to get the ball inside in order to do that."

UW-Milwaukee Guard Allan Hanson: "Coach challenged us at halftime. He talked about how tought it is on the road, and he challenged us to see if we wanted it more."
