Postgame Quotes
Cleveland State Head Coach Mike Garland: "We most certainly didn't play the way that we practiced for this game. This is on my players. We didn't show up to play and that is inexcusable. We played some uninspired basketball. It wasn't every single person. Raheem Moss and Frashon McGee stepped up to the plate, as did some of the other role players, but some of us were just uninspired. Tonight was just simply inexcusable."
"We stopped going at the basket [late in the second half]. We got them into the bonus early because we were throwing it inside and going at the basket."
Cleveland State forward Raheem Moss: "It's always been the start of the second half that has been killing us for the past couple of years. We have to change something. We can't continue to play catch up like this at the start of the half and expect to win games down the stretch."
Cleveland State forward Frashon McGee: "We came out for the second half trying to be aggressive and not just settle for a shot. We tried to take it to the basket and be strong with it and we got them in foul trouble. We tried to be as physical as possible without being dirty or illegal. But we kind of moved away from that towards the end of the second half."
Wright State Head Coach Paul Biancardi: "Our last game we got crushed by Akron and we talked about mental toughness and going on the road because everything you do on the road you have to be mentally tough if you're going to succeed in an adverse situation. Forget the officials, forget the crowd and just play the way we want to play and let us be responsible for us, don't let anyone else be responsible for us and that has been the approach the past few days and we hung on to win."
"I thought we played a really good first half and in the second half we lost some steam and Cleveland State shifted the momentum a little bit and we hung on to win. One of the reasons we did hang on to win was that our rebounding was very good tonight, 25 defensive rebounds. When they shot and missed we were fortunate enough to clean up the glass and I thought that really helped because they are so big, strong and physical."
