Portsmouth, VA-Tristan Enaruna has earned an invitation to the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament which occurs this week in Portsmouth, Virginia. The tournament is an exclusive event bringing together top college prospects from across the country who play in a series of games in front of professional scouts. 

The tournament takes place each year and has a consistent track record of preparing players for the NBA Combine and helping them earn NBA roster spots. Last year, 11 players who participated in the tournament landed on an NBA roster with several more playing in the G League.

Enaruna is one of 64 players to earn an invitation to this year's event. He is the only student-athlete from a Horizon League school and one of a handful from a non-power conference school. He will compete on Team Jani King alongside student-athletes from Mississippi State, UNLV, Virginia Tech and Michigan State among others. Participants are divided up into eight teams of eight players each. 

Enaruna had a breakout performance in the opening game of the tournament on Wednesday. He led Jani King to an 85-79 win and led his team with 25 points in 28 minutes of game action. Enaruna finished 9-of-14 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line. Team Jani King competes again on Friday, April 19 against Mike Duman Auto Sales.
