Drew Lowder Named #HLMBB Player of the Week

Cleveland, OH-Senior guard Drew Lowder has earned the Horizon League Men's Basketball Player of the Week Award, the league office announced today. Lowder earns his first Horizon League weekly award after a stellar performance in Cleveland State's 76-69 upset win over Bradley on Friday night.

Lowder tallied 26 points, one shy of his career high which was set in the season opener at Duquesne. He finished at 50 percent from the field (8-16) and connected on six-of-nine three-point tries. The six three-pointers tie his career best in that category.

Lowder finished 4-of-5 from the free-throw line and added a career-high four steals in the contest.

He scored five points in helping lead the Vikings on a 12-0 run in the final minutes which ultimately was the difference in the game. Lowder's three-pointer at the 3:23 mark tied the score and erased a five-point deficit. The Vikings would go on to take the lead for good and secure their first road victory of 2023-24.

Cleveland State returns to the Wolstein Center on Thursday night for the final non-conference matchup of the season against Western Michigan. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
