Tristan Enaruna Named #HLMBB Player of the Week

Cleveland, OH-Tristan Enaruna has been named the Horizon League's Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced today. Enaruna was named to the All-League First Team in the postseason last year and the preseason this season. This is his first League Player of the Week award.

Enaruna earned MVP honors in helping lead the Vikings to a first-place finish in the Viking Invitational at Woodling Gymnasium this past week. Cleveland State finished 2-0 in the tournament with wins over East Tennessee State and Alabama A&M, which puts the Vikings at 5-2 overall headed into the first Horizon League games this week.

Enaruna posted a career-high 28 points in Wednesday's victory over ETSU. He tallied 18 of those points in the second half, including the final four points of the game to propel the Vikinggs to a narrow 72-70 comeback victory in the opening game of the tournament. With Cleveland State down one with under a minute to play, Enaruna stole an inbounds pass and raced all the way to the bucket to put the Vikings back in front with a layup. On the game's final possession, with the score tied, he scored on another driving layup with four seconds remaining which proved to be the game-winning basket.

He followed his career night with a 12-point, seven rebound performance in Saturday's win over Alabama A&M. Enaruna has scored in double figures in every game this season, and has an active streak of 29 consecutive games with 10 or more points.

For the week, Enaruna shot 60 percent from the field(15-25) and connected on four of his five three-point attempts in the two games combined. He ranked in the top five among Horizon League student-athletes in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage and steals this week.

The Vikings open Horizon League play on Wednesday night, traveling to Youngstown State for a 6:30 p.m. tip-off. Cleveland State returns home on Saturday to face Detroit Mercy at the Wolstein Center at 3:00 p.m.
