Cleveland, OH- Cleveland State men's basketball head coach Daniyal Robinson has released the team's 2023-24 regular season schedule. The schedule kicks off with an exhibition game against Baldwin Wallace on November 2, and includes 11 non-conference games in addition to the 20-game Horizon League schedule.

Robinson has assembled a challenging non-conference slate in his second season in charge of the program. The team set a program record for wins by a first-year Cleveland State head coach in securing 21 victories during Robinson's inaugural season. Cleveland State has won 20 or more games in three consecutive seasons, tying a program record, and seeks to become the first team in program history to reach the postseason in four consecutive years.

The Vikings return 62 percent of the scoring and 51 percent of the rebounding from last year's squad. Eight players return to the roster this season, led by reigning first-team all-league performer Tristan Enaruna. In addition, CSU welcomes six new faces to the roster in 2023-24.

The Vikings' non-conference schedule features three teams that won 20 or more games and made postseason appearances last season. Kent State (NCAA Tournament), Bradley (NIT) and Duquesne (CBI) will all be tough road tests for the Vikings this season.

Cleveland State kicks off the 2023-24 campaign hosting Baldwin-Wallace in a home exhibition contest on November 2nd, before traveling to Duquesne on November 6th to open the regular season.

Cleveland State returns home for three straight games at the Wolstein Center starting with Defiance College on November 8th. The home slate is highlighted by an all-Ohio matchup at the Wolstein Center when Ohio University comes to town on November 11th. This will be the seventh time dating back to 2014 that the Vikings and Bobcats will square off.

The final home game in the three-game stretch is a date with Canisius on November 15th. The game is a re-match of last season's road contest which saw the Vikings defeat the Golden Griffins for Coach Robinson's first career win.

Cleveland State returns to the road for a matchup at Eastern Michigan on November 18th. The Vikings and Eagles have met 32 times previously, with this matchup coming exactly ten years to the day from the last contest between the two schools which occurred in 2013.

Cleveland State will also host the Viking Invitational with two games taking place in Woodling Gymnasium the week of November 20.  More information on opponents and ticket availability will be released soon.

The Vikings also plan to add one final road non-conference game, with opponent and date details to be announced in the near future.

The Horizon League schedule begins the following week, with a road matchup against defending league regular season champion Youngstown State on November 29th. The first home game of league play will take place Saturday, December 2nd as Detroit Mercy visits the Wolstein Center.

Up next is a trip to Kent State for a rematch with the Golden Flashes on December 9th, followed by a trip to Bradley on December 15th. The final non-conference game will see Western Michigan travel to the Wolstein Center on December 21st.

Cleveland State will kick off the new year with two key league matchups in the first week of January. The Vikings travel to Wright State on January 3rd to begin the month and return home three days later to host Northern Kentucky on January 6th. The Vikings and Norse meet for a rematch of last year's Horizon League Tournament Championship game in a marquee matchup at the Wolstein Center.

Back-to-back home contests against Milwaukee and Youngstown State highlight the February schedule. The Vikings play host to the Panthers on Valentine's Day, February 14th, and host the Penguins on February 17th.

The regular season concludes with Senior Day on March 1st as the Vikings host IUPUI. The Horizon League Tournament kicks off on March 5th with first round games at campus sites, culminating with the championship game in Indianapolis on March 12th.
