CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's basketball team got back in the win column Friday evening, picking up an 85-69 victory over Green Bay. With the win, the Vikings are now 15-5 overall this year and 11-2 in Horizon League play.
Game Stats
· Four Vikings finished with double-digits on the night, led by Torrey Patton with 16 and Jayson Woodrich with 15. D'Moi Hodge and Yahel Hill both added 11 points.
· Cleveland State shot 63-percent from the floor on the game, including a .654 clip during the first half.
· As a team, the Vikings recorded 24 assists on 33 made field goals, with five from Torrey Patton and four from Deante Johnson, Deshon Parker and Yahel Hill.
· The Vikings held a 40-5 advantage in bench points on the night.

The Game
The Vikings were able to quickly gain control of the contest during the first half, as Cleveland State held a double-digit lead throughout the majority of the frame, heading into the halftime break with a 44-33 advantage.
Although the Phoenix opened the second half on a 6-2 run, closing the gap to 46-39, the Vikings responded with eight straight points, gaining a 54-39 advantage on back-to-back three-pointers from Yahel Hill and Tre Gomillion. During this stretch the Viking defense recorded three steals – two from Deshon Parker and one from Tre Gomillion.
The Phoenix were once again able to work their way back into the contest over the next few possessions, closing the gap to single-digits at 56-45, but seven straight points from Broc Finstuen put the Vikings back up by double-digits at the 63-45 mark with 11:05 left on the clock.
Just over four minutes later, the Vikings would go on another run, posting eight straight points to extend their lead to 22-points at the 74-52 mark following a Jayson Woodrich three-pointer. Although Green Bay was able to stop the scoring run, Woodrich responded with another three-pointer on CSU's next possession, giving the Vikings a 77-54 lead with 4:54 left to play.
The Vikings were then able to control play throughout the remainder of the contest, holding a sizeable lead over the final five minutes of the frame, pulling away with the 85-69 victory.
