Cleveland State Men’s Basketball Picks Up 74-33 Victory In Final Exhibition

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's basketball team hosted its final exhibition contest of the 2021-22 campaign Friday evening, picking up a 74-33 victory over Otterbein.

The Vikings will officially kickoff the 2021-22 campaign on Tuesday, November 9, traveling to BYU for a 9:00 p.m. EST contest. This will mark the first of nine non-league games for Cleveland State this year, and the first of 15 total road games on the season.

Prior to Friday's game against Otterbein the Vikings honored the 2020-21 NCAA Tournament team, as they unveiled the NCAA Tournament First Round banner and presented the NCAA rings to the team and coaching staff.

Cleveland State had 16 players take the court throughout Friday's contest against Otterbein, with 15 of the 16 players making the scoring column for a balanced offensive attack.

The Vikings were able to control play from the start of the contest – jumping out to a 13-4 lead – and then went on to hold a 33-14 advantage at the halftime break. The Vikings carried their momentum into the second half then, as they outscored Otterbein 17-2 over the first four minutes of the game to gain a 50-16 advantage.

The Vikings then held a 30-point lead for the remainder of the contest – including their largest lead of 45 at the 71-26 mark – before claiming the 74-33 victory.

After Cleveland State's contest at BYU on Tuesday, the Vikings will return to the Wolstein Center on Saturday, November 13, hosting Ohio in the first regular season home game of the season.
