CLEVELAND – The Horizon League announced on Wednesday the league's television schedule for the upcoming 2021-22 men's basketball season, which includes a Friday, Jan. 28 ESPNU appearance for the Vikings.
Cleveland State will take on Wright State in front of a nationally-televised audience on Friday, Jan. 28 at 9 p.m. ET, as the Vikes head to the Nutter Center for an ESPNU battle. Last season, these two teams met in an ESPNU-broadcasted match, with Cleveland State winning, 66-64, on a buzzer-beating alley-oop from D'Moi Hodge to Deante Johnson.
The Green and White have two more possible ESPN linear contests during the 2021-22 regular season: Friday, Jan. 7, Cleveland State at Robert Morris (ESPN2) and Friday, Feb. 18, Cleveland State at Milwaukee (ESPN2).
Cleveland State appeared on an ESPN linear network three times during the regular season last year, notching a 2-1 record. The Vikings' three ESPN linear network games during the 2020-21 regular season were the most since the 2014-15 campaign. In total, Cleveland State played five contests on ESPN linear networks during its historic 2020-21 season (regular season and #HLMBB tournament), tallying a 4-1 record.
Continuing a relationship that began with the 1988 Midwestern Collegiate Conference men's basketball championship game, the entire Horizon League Men's Basketball Championship in Indianapolis will appear on ESPN linear networks from the Indiana Farmers Coliseum. The action begins on Monday, March 7 with semifinal No. 1 at 7 p.m. ET and semifinal No. 2 at 9:30 p.m. ET with both games on either ESPN2 or ESPNU. The championship game on Tuesday, March 8 will be shown on either ESPN or ESPN2 at 7 p.m. ET.
