Cleveland State Men's Basketball Adds Broc Finstuen to the Team's 2021-22 Roster

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State Men's Basketball Head Coach Dennis Gates has announced the signing of senior transfer guard Broc Finstuen to the team's 2021-22 roster. Finstuen will join the Vikings as a transfer.

"I'm ecstatic to add Broc Finstuen to our men's basketball family," said Dennis Gates. "Broc is a high-caliber individual both on and off the court and has excelled at both the JUCO and Division I level. He's a veteran and proven leader who brings toughness and a competitive spirit that fits our culture. I cannot wait for him to get to campus to join our program and the Cleveland State University community."

Finstuen comes to Cleveland State after a two-year stint at the University of Pacific. During the 2020-21 season, the 6-4 guard tallied 11.2 points and 5.7 rebounds in 28.4 minutes, which included a career-high 19-point outing in a win over Montana State on Dec. 2. As a junior (2019-20), the newest Viking led the Tigers to a 23-10 record, including an 11-5 clip in conference play and an appearance in the WCC championship game.

In his two years suiting up for the Tigers, Finstuen saw action in 48 games (34 starts), averaging 7.5 points on .519 shooting from the floor and 3.7 rebounds in 20.0 minutes per contest.

Prior to his time at the University of Pacific, the Pine Island, Minnesota, native played for two different NJCAA programs. He spent the 2018-19 season at Casper College seeing action in 31 games (30 starts), notching 13.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 27.2 minutes. As a sophomore, the guard scored 10-or-more points in all but four games.

Finstuen began his collegiate career at Central Wyoming appearing in 30 games, averaging 12.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 25.5 minutes per contest during the 2017-18 campaign.

This past season, the Vikings were also crowned the 2020-21 Horizon League Regular Season Champions, finishing atop the #HLMBB standings for the first time in 10 years (2010-11) and only the second time in program history.
