THE GAME
As has frequently been the case over the last few weeks, the Vikings came out firing on all cylinders, putting together an early 12-1 run capped off by back-to-back buckets by Patton for a 16-6 advantage only five minutes into the contest.

Cleveland State connected on 10 of its first 12 attempts from the field, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc. The Vikings' team-first approach was on full display in the early goings as they logged assists on nine of their first 10 baskets.

Late in the opening half, Jayson Woodrich came alive with multiple momentum-swinging threes. Woodrich restored Cleveland State's double-digit edge at 39-29 on his second three-pointer of the night with 3:14 remaining.

With only 41 seconds to play, Woodrich nailed his fourth triple of the half out of a timeout, putting the Vikings up 46-33 at the break. The Northeast Ohio native's impressive display put the finishing touch on a dominant half in which Cleveland State shot 63 percent (17-27) from the field while converting half of its 16 three-point attempts.

Meanwhile, the Vikings stymied Oakland on the defensive end, holding the Golden Grizzlies to under 40 percent shooting for the half while forcing nine turnovers.

Midway through the second frame, Gomillion blocked a shot in the paint to create a fast break opportunity. D'Moi Hodge found Craig Beaudion for an open layup for the Vikings' largest lead of the night at 69-51.
