PRESS CONFERENCE

THE GAME
The Vikings survived an early 12-2 Phoenix run powered by Amari Davis, who scored 17 of his 27 points in the first 20 minutes and was responsible for half of Green Bay's first half points.

Cleveland State held the lead for fewer than five minutes in the opening 20, but the Vikings headed to the locker room up 39-38 thanks to a stellar sequence by D'Moi Hodge. The junior guard drilled a three-pointer before stepping up on the defensive end, swatting a Green Bay shot just inside the paint. Hodge then fed a streaking Tre Gomillion, who nailed a buzzer-beater from just outside the arc.

The Vikings trailed by five points with less than 40 seconds remaining in the half, but Hodge was largely responsible for a six-point swing over the course of 16 ticks.

Patton opened the second frame with a triple and the Vikings never looked back, leading for the remainder of the contest. With 5:15 on the clock, Oglesby nailed a three to cap off a 13-3 run and give Cleveland State a 65-55 edge, the largest lead of the night for either side.

Green Bay drew within a basket with under a minute to play, but Patton hit a dagger to put the Vikings on top 70-64.

A balanced scoring effort saw five Cleveland State starters score in double digits, headlined by Craig Beaudion's 16-point effort. Gomillion chipped in 13 points and eight rebounds while Deante Johnson added 11 points and seven boards.
