Hodge Named Nike #HLMBB Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State Men's Basketball junior guard D'Moi Hodge has been named the Nike #HLMBB Player of the Week, the Horizon League announced today.

Hodge is coming off of a record-setting performance at Purdue Fort Wayne on Sunday, Dec. 20. The Tortola, British Virgin Islands native poured in an NCAA-high 46 points on 15-23 (.652) shooting from the field, including a 10-15 (.667) clip from deep, a game-high seven rebounds, three assists and a game-high tying four steals in 32 minutes of action. Hodge set new school records for most made three-pointers in a single game (10), most made three-pointers in a half (8) and most points in a first half (31).

His 46 points scored are the most in the NCAA this season, while his 10 made triples are tied for the most in the NCAA this season. Additionally, Hodge was only three points shy of tying the school record for points in a game (49-Franklin Edwards at Xavier, 2/25/81).

In his first game of the weekend, Hodge swiped a game-high five steals, the most for a Cleveland State Vikings this season, while dishing out a game-high tying four assists.

Hodge, who started in both games against Purdue Fort Wayne this past weekend, averaged 25.5 points on 17-31 (.548) shooting from the floor, in addition to an 11-19 (.579) mark from the three-point line, 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 4.5 steals in 28.5 minutes of play.

With the Vikings' two wins this past weekend, Cleveland State is now 2-0 in Horizon League play for the first time since the 2014-15 season.

Up next, Cleveland State will play at the friendly confines of the Wolstein Center for the first time this season on Saturday, Dec. 26 and Sunday, Dec. 27, as Youngstown State comes to town. Tipoff for both contests are slated for 1 p.m and will be broadcast on 1420-WHK, 102.5 FM, whkradio.com and ESPN streaming platforms.

Cleveland State's game against Youngstown State on Dec. 26 is the latest home opener since the 1969-70 season (Dec. 27 vs. Eastern Montana).
