OPENING TIP:
• Cleveland State concludes a season-long four-game homestand against UIC Saturday (Feb. 1) at 3 p.m. in the Wolstein Center
• The Vikings enter the contest with a 5-5 record in Horizon League play, while UIC is also 5-5 in conference play
Algevon Eichelberger has 11 straight double-figure scoring games
• Four Vikings scored in double figures in each of the last two games
• UIC is coming off a 90-83 win in overtime at Youngstown State

Craig Beaudion leads CSU, and is third in the HL, as he is netting 2.2 steals per HL contest
• Cleveland State had 13 steals last time out against IUPUI, its highest figure in Horizon League play this season

LEAGUE ROUNDUP:
• Cleveland State is tied for fifth place in the Horizon League standings with a 5-5 record entering Friday's games
• A pair of teams, Green Bay and Milwaukee, are tied for third place and sit just a half game ahead of CSU at 5-4 in the league
• This weekend's games began the second half of the Horizon League double round robin slate

CSU 72, IUPUI 62 (1/30/20):
• Cleveland State won its second straight with a 72-62 win over IUPUI
• CSU led for the final 30 minutes of the contest
• Four Vikings scored in double figures for the second straight game
• Cleveland State had a 46-32 advantage in rebounds, while its 19 offensive rebounds tied CSU's season high
Craig Beaudion and Torrey Patton tied for game-high honors with 18 points each while both added five rebounds

ABOUT THE VIKINGS:
• Cleveland State enters the contest with a 9-14 overall record and a 5-5 record in the Horizon League
Craig Beaudion (14.4), Algevon Eichelberger (14.0) and Torrey Patton (13.3) are each averaging in double figures in Horizon League play
Algevon Eichelberger leads the Vikings, averaging 13.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game overall

THE DENNIS GATES ERA:
• This will mark the first season for new Cleveland State head coach Dennis Gates
• Gates earned his first career victory at Cleveland State on Nov. 9 with a 79-54 victory over Edinboro in the Wolstein Center
• Gates was named the Vikings head coach on July 26, 2019
• He comes to Cleveland State after spending the previous eight seasons as an assistant coach at Florida State
• Gates brings 16 years of Division I coaching experience to Cleveland State
• Gates also coached at Marquette, Cal, Northern Illinois and Nevada

• Cleveland State is represented by players from four countries and eight different US states
Tyrese Potoma (Saskatchewan), Kasheem Thomas (Quebec), Franklyn Penn Jr (British Virgin Islands) and Hugo Ferreira (Portugal) all hail from foreign countries

TIGHT ON THE DEFENSIVE END OF THE FLOOR:
• Cleveland State has held 10 opponents at or under 40.4 percent shooting from the floor
• Cleveland State limited Eastern Kentucky to 25.5 percent shooting from the floor
• The Vikings held UNC Wilmington to 27.3 percent shooting
• The Vikings limited South Carolina to 37.8 percent shooting from the field, including 35.9 percent in the opening half
• The Vikings held Missouri State to just 37.7 percent shooting for the game, including 32.0 percent in the second half
• Cleveland State limited Edinboro to 28.3 percent shooting from the floor in a 79-54 win

WHEN WE WIN:
• The Vikings have featured balanced scoring in their nine victories this season as four players are averaging in double figures
Algevon Eichelberger (14.5), Craig Beaudion (13.6), Torrey Patton (12.2) and Tre Gomillion (10.2) each average double figures in CSU wins
• Cleveland State has limited the opposition to just 34.5 percent shooting from the floor in its victories
• The Vikings are outrebounding opponents by an average of 37.7-32.7 in their nine wins

KEEP YOUR EYE ON HIM:
• Junior Algevon Eichelberger has had a breakout season for the Vikings in 2019-20
• He has started all 20 games in which he has played this season and leads the team averaging 13.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game
• He leads the team with 16 double-figure scoring games and posted his first four career double-doubles this year

WE SHOULD PATTON THAT:
Torrey Patton has raised his output in Horizon League play
• He is averaging 13.3 points and a team-high 6.3 rebounds per game in league play
• Patton is shooting 53.0 percent (53-of-100) from the floor, second in the league, and 52.4 (11-of-21) percent from the three-point line
•  He scored a career-high 25 points in the Vikings' victory over Youngstown State
• That effort against YSU is one of three 20-point games he has in league play
• Patton has double figures in scoring in seven of 10 HL games
