Vikings Add Graduate Transfer to Roster

CLEVELAND – Cleveland State University head men's basketball coach Dennis Felton announced that graduate transfer Jalen Williams (Greenville, S.C./Wade Hampton) has signed a financial aid agreement and will be part of the men's basketball program this fall.

Williams, who has played in 77 Division I games, will be eligible immediately.

The 6-8, 240-pound forward spent four seasons at Furman, including a redshirt season in 2015-16. He helped lead Furman to 71 wins over the past three seasons, which featured a postseason appearance in both the NIT and the CIT. He averaged 2.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 0.6 blocked shots per game during his Furman career and shot .472 percent from the floor and .696 percent from the free throw line.

He played in 18 games and made one start for the Paladins last season and averaged 1.4 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.

"We are very excited about the impact Jalen will have on our team this year," said Felton. "He brings interior presence, rebounding, strength and physicality at both ends of the floor. He will help our ability to compete in the paint and we are excited about the experience he brings, specifically the winning experience he's had at Furman."

Williams played in 30 games during his junior season and averaged 2.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game and saw action in 29 games as a sophomore and averaged 2.6 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest.
