vs. Valparaiso

GAME PREVIEW:
    •    Cleveland State returns home to host Valparaiso at Quicken Loans Arena on Tuesday (Feb. 16) at 7:00 pm.
    •    The game will be broadcast live on AM 1420-WHK and AM 1320-WDLW with Al Pawlowski providing the play-by-play.
    •    It will also be available on ESPN3 and the Watch ESPN app.
    •    The Vikings are 8-18 overall and 3-10 in the Horizon League after a 64-59 win at Youngstown State on Saturday (Feb. 13).
    •    Valparaiso is 21-5 overall and in first place in the Horizon League at 11-2. The Crusaders dropped a 61-59 contest at home to Wright State on Saturday (Feb. 13) to snap a five-game winning streak.

THE VALPARAISO SERIES:
    •    CSU leads the all-time series with Valparaiso, 30-17.
    •    Valpo has won eight of the last 10 meetings, including a 77-52 win in Valpo on Jan. 28.
    •    Since Valparaiso joined the League in 2007-08, Valpo holds a 10-9 lead in the series.

GAME 26 RECAP - @CSU 64, YOUNGSTOWN STATE 59 (2/13/16)
    •    Cleveland State earned a 64-59 win at Youngstown State on Saturday night.
    •    Demonte Flannigan scored a game-high 30 points, hitting 10-of-13 from the field. He also made all nine of his free throws, including both ends of a one-and-one with 4.3 seconds left to seal the win.
    •    The Vikings led at the half, 32-21. YSU cut the lead to two points (34-32) early in the second half, but CSU responded with a 12-2 run to open up a 12-point lead.
    •    Jibri Blount had eight points and Rob Edwards scored seven.

FLANNIGAN SCORES CAREER HIGH:
    •    Demonte Flannigan scored a career-high 30 points in Saturday's win at Youngstown State.
    •    He made 10-of-13 from the field, including his lone three-point attempt, and all nine of his free throws.
    •    Flannigan hit both ends of a one-and-one with 4.3 seconds left to seal the win.
    •    It was the first 30-point game for a CSU player since Trey Lewis scored 32 points in a victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene (12/15/14).

FLANNIGAN OVER THE LAST SIX:
    •    Demonte Flannigan has scored in double figures in each of the last six games, averaging 18.8 points and 5.8 boards over the stretch.
    •    He has posted a pair of double-doubles during the time, tallying 25 points and 10 rebounds against Detroit (Feb. 4) and 19 points and 10 boards vs. Oakland (Feb. 6).
    •    Flannigan scored a career-high 30 points in Saturday's (Feb. 13) win at Youngstown State
    •    He has four double-doubles this year and is averaging 11.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
    •    Flannigan is eighth in the League in blocked shots (1.0), 12th in field goal percentage (.494), 16th in rebounding and 19th in scoring.

EDWARDS AT 24 STARTS:
    •    Rob Edwards has started 24 games this year, tied for the sixth most by a freshman in CSU history and two shy of moving into a tie for fourth on the list.
    •    Edwards' 24 starts are the most by a CSU freshman since Eric Mudd made 26 starts in his first season (1983-84).
    •    The most starts by a CSU freshman in a season is 30 by Shawn Hood in 1983-84.

FOR THREE:
    •    CSU has hit a three in a school-record 560 consecutive games.
    •    The Vikings have hit at least three three's in 109 straight games.
    •    The last time CSU failed to make a three-pointer was Feb. 21, 1998, when the Vikings were 0-for-8 in a 60-57 win over Detroit.
    •    A total of 12 different players for CSU have hit a three-pointer this year, the CSU single season record for most players with at least one three-pointer in a season.
            
WORKING OVERTIME:
    •    CSU went to overtime for the first time this year on Jan. 30 at UIC, falling 72-70.
    •    It was CSU's first overtime game since a 66-61 win at Green Bay on Feb. 20, 2015, CSU's third OT game last year (at Savannah State and vs. San Francisco).
    •    The Vikings are now 44-41 all-time in overtime games.

800 MINUTE MAN:
    •    Rob Edwards has played 805 minutes this year, just the seventh freshman to play at least 800 minutes in a season in school history.
    •    Edwards is averaging 31.0 minutes per game. Only two players (Jim Les 32.9 in 1981-82 and James Madison 32.6 in 1996-97) have averaged 30 minutes as freshmen at CSU.
    •    He is the first to do so since Bryn Forbes played 905 minutes in 2012-13.
    •    Edwards ranks 18th in the League in scoring (11.8) and ninth in steals (1.2).
    •    Edwards is a two-time Horizon League Freshman of the Week (Nov. 30 & Dec. 21).
    •     Edwards scored a career-high 26 points on Jan. 4 at Detroit, bettering his old career-high of 21 points set against Cedarville (Dec. 29) when he tied a CSU single game record by hitting 5-of-5 from three-point.
    •    Edwards came off the bench for the first two games before starting at Rhode Island (Nov. 21) where he scored 16 points.
    •    He was named to all-tournament team at Cancun Challenge Mayan Division (11/24-25) after totaling 24 points in two games.

BLOUNT FORCE:
    •    Jibri Blount is averaging 5.7 points and 3.2 boards, playing all 26 games. He has drawn a starting assignment in the last five games.
    •    In his second career start, Blount scored a career-high 15 points with six rebounds at UIC (Jan. 30).
    •    Blount had a career-high 11 rebounds at Northern Kentucky (Jan. 16).
    •    Blount is the son of Mel Blount, who played 14 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and is a member of the NFL Hall of Fame.
