Cambridge, Mass. - Liran Gross placed 24th in the men's foil at the NCAA Championship, as the lone Viking to represent Cleveland State at the tournament.

"Liran had great second day, getting some victories against some of the best competition in the nation," head coach Andy Tulleners said. "It was great for him to be able to get this experience and to be considered among the best fencers in the nation."

Gross recorded three victories on the final day of competition, winning bouts against Alex Simmons of Penn (5-1), Ben Van Son of Haverford (5-3) and Philip Jamesson of N.Y.U. (5-3).

The three points that Gross scored gave Cleveland State a 26th place finish in the final team standings.

Penn State won their second straight national title, collecting 191 victories over the four-day tournament.
