Cambridge, Mass. - After day one of the 2010 NCAA Fencing Championship, Liran Gross is in 24th place in the men's foil. Action continues tomorrow, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

"So far Liran has had some great performances and is really staying with some of the best fencers in the nation," head coach Andy Tulleners said. "He dropped some close bouts in the first few rounds, but overall he is putting up some quality performances against great competition."

Gross was winless through four rounds on day one, facing competitors from Notre Dame, U.C. San Diego, Penn State, North Carolina, Yale, Brown, Ohio State, St. John's and Air Force.

He dropped close bouts to Adam Pantel from Brown and Alexis Landreville of St. John's falling 5-4 and lost 5-3 decisions to Enzo Castellani of Notre Dame, John Gurrieri of Yale, and Ohio State's Ben Parkins and Colin Sutter.

Gross will return to action tomorrow (Sunday, March 28), competing in the final rounds of the men's foil beginning at 10:00 a.m.
