Jesse Ndjeka Named Midwest All-Region Honorable Mention

Cleveland, OH-Senior Jesse Ndjeka has been named to the Honorable Mention team for the Midwest region in men's epee by the US Fencing Coaches Association. Ndjeka is one of six fencers named to the Midwest team.

Ndjeka is set to compete in the NCAA Fencing National Championship next week. He qualifies by placing sixth this past weekend in the men's epee competition at the Midwest Regional in Detroit, MI. Ndjeka is one of 24 fencers across the country who will compete for the national title in men's epee. He finished with a 6-5 record in the regional round.

Ndjeka won the school's first-ever Central Collegiate Fencing Conference individual championship in taking home the men's epee title three weeks ago. He was seeded third in the eight-man bracket and won three consecutive matches to take home the title.

Ndjeka's run of success began at the Northwestern Duals just over a month ago. He finished with a 7-2 record against stiff competition on the day, which helped the men's epee squad finish with a winning record overall.

Ndjeka is the only honoree among the six from a non-power conference school. He competes at the NCAA Championship starting on March 23.
