Ndjeka Sixth, Cleveland State Fencing Teams Wrap Up NCAA Midwest Regional

Detroit, MI-Senior Jesse Ndjeka picked up right where he left off on Saturday at the NCAA Midwest Regional Fencing Competition at Wayne State University. Ndjeka placed sixth in men's epee among a talented field, carrying momentum forward after winning the CCFC men's epee championship two weeks ago. 

Ndjeka finished with a 6-5 record in pool play on the day. He was Cleveland State's highest placer in Saturday's event and will await his fate to move on to the NCAA National Tournament when the field is announced early next week. 

Men's epee teammate De'Mario Steele placed 11th. Merik Pohl and Drew Walker placed 17th and 18th respectively in the epee field.

In men's saber, Mason Moskowitz placed 13th and Simon Caisse placed 15th. Rounding out the saber lineup for the Vikings were Conner Bailey and Travis Kroggel who finished 17th and 18th. Evran Walter placed ninth in the men's foil competition.

On the women's side, Ilyssa Freiburger was the highest placer finishing ninth in women's saber. Maia Taylor Cassamayor(16th), Lily Robertson(17th), Mira Semenets(18th) and Rayllen Prafil Capaccio(19th), all finished in line with each other in the women's epee field.
