Cleveland State Fencing Wraps Up Central Collegiate Fencing Championships

Columbus, OH-The Cleveland State fencing teams concluded the Central Collegiate Fencing Championships on Sunday with the individual portion of the competition. 

After a strong showing in the team competition on Saturday, several Vikings made the podium on the men's side individually. Mason Moskowitz was the highest placer of the day, finishing seventh in men's saber. Paul DiVenti finished eighth in the men's foil, and Merik Pohl also finished eighth in the men's epee. 

On the women's side, Lily Robertson placed ninth in the epee competiion. Illyssa Freiburger took 10th place in women's saber. Gabbi Hirsch placed 16th and Shelbie Seeberg finished close behind in 18th place in women's foil. 

The Vikings will next turn their attention to NCAA Regionals. The competition will take place on Saturday, March 11th and is hosted by Northwestern.
