Cleveland State Fencing Wraps up Successful Day at Central Collegiate Fencing Championship

Columbus, OH-The Cleveland State fencing teams competed at the Central Collegiate Fencing Championship on Saturday, hosted by Ohio State. The Viking men's team placed second overall, and the women's team placed third in Epee to highlight a successful opening day for CSU.\ 

The men's team finished 2-2 on the day, collecting wins over Wayne State and Detroit Mercy. The men also placed second in foil, and third in saber and epee. 

The Viking women finished 2-3 on the day, with wins over Detroit Mercy and Wayne State. The women finished third in epee to cap the day for Cleveland State. 

The tournament continues tomorrow with the individual competition. The women's individual competition will take place in the morning, and the men's individual competition will commence in the afternoon.
