Cleveland State Fencing Competes at NCAA Midwest Regional

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Cleveland State University fencing team continued postseason action Saturday at the NCAA Midwest Regional hosted by Ohio State University.

The Vikings were competing in pools that comprised of athletes from Denison, Detroit Mercy, Lawrence, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Wayne State.

Women's Results
The Vikings placed 12th, 13th, and 14th in epee with Maeve Kozak, Karina Grossl, and Lily Roberton. Shelbie Seeberg placed 14th in foil, and Ilyssa Freiburger came in 16th in sabre.

Men's Results
Mason Moskowitz came in ninth and John Gaffney was tenth in the sabre. In foil, John Wenger led the way with an eighth-place finish, while Paul DiVenti, Conner Sheperd, and Evran Walter placed 10-12th.

Jesse Ndjeka, De'Mario Steele, and Ian Wu came in eighth through tenth during epee. Weymouth Walker came in 15th and Will Waters rounded out the weapon with a 17th place finish.

The 2022 NCAA NC fencing championship selections will be announced on Tuesday, March 15 at 3 p.m. ET via press release on NCAA.com.

The 2022 NC fencing championship will take place March 24-27 from the Castellan Family Fencing Facility in Notre Dame, Illinois.
