Cleveland State Fencing Concludes Calendar Year at Elite Invite

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State will head to Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday for the Elite Invitational.

The Vikings will compete in five rounds on the day, facing Ohio State twice, Air Force, Northwestern, and California San Diego.

Schedule for the Vikings
Round 1: Ohio State (9:00 AM)
Round 2: Air Force (10:30 AM)
Round 3: Northwestern (12:00 PM)
Round 4: Ohio State (2:30 PM)
Round 5: USCD (4:00 PM)

The Last Elite Invitational
Cleveland State last competed in the Ohio State Elite Invitational in Fall 2018. Neither Green and White team won as they faced No. 3 Ohio State, No. 11 Northwestern, No. 18 Cornell, and No. 24 Northwestern. However, the men's foil team defeated the UNC, 5-4, and the women's epee team took down Cornell, 5-4. Will Waters and Abigail Barr were part of those victories and will be competing on Saturday.

Last Time Out
The Vikings last competed on Saturday, October 30 at the CSU Duals with the men going 4-1 and the women 5-0. Both squads defeated Wisconsin twice, Michigan, and Denison, while the women also defeated Case Western Reserve.
